A cellular repeater, also known as cell phone signal boosters or cellular signal amplifiers, are systems used for boosting the cell phone reception to the local area by the using of a reception antenna / donor antenna, a signal amplifier, and a rebroadcast antenna. These are similar to the cellular broadcast towers used for broadcasting by the cellular carriers or network providers, but are much smaller. These systems are usually intended for use in buildings, but can also be used in remote exterior industrial areas.
Today’s cellular amplifier is very technically advanced, but the theory remains simple. Each system uses some type of an external antenna to collect the best cellular signal, which is then transmitted to one of our signal boosters that amplifies the signal, and re-transmits it locally through some type of interior antenna, providing significantly improved signal strength. The more advanced models often also allow multiple cell phones to use the same cellular repeater at the same time; hence these are suitable for commercial as well as residential use.
